Cary Dean Carlile Accident Johnson County, IN Death: Family And Friends Mourns A Loss

Cary Dean Carlile Accident Johnson County, IN Death And Obituary: A 59-year-old Morgantown man, Cary Dean Carlile, was killed Tuesday afternoon in a violent two-vehicle crash involving pickup trucks towing trailers.

The collision occurred at approximately 1:55 p.m. at the intersection of West State Road 135 and County Road 500 West (Spearsville Road). Deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after emergency calls reported a serious crash involving multiple injuries.

Investigators say a white Ford F-250 traveling northbound on State Road 135 crossed the center line before colliding head-on with a white Ford F-550 coming from the opposite direction. Both vehicles were reportedly towing trailers at the time of the impact.

Early findings suggest the F-250 may have been braking prior to drifting across the roadway, with tire marks observed on the pavement consistent with sudden deceleration. The force of the collision left both trucks heavily damaged and debris scattered across the roadway.

Carlile was pronounced dead at the scene by the Johnson County Coroner’s Office. Authorities have confirmed his identity, and an autopsy is scheduled as part of the ongoing investigation.

Three additional individuals sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to hospitals in the Indianapolis area. One victim was extricated from the wreckage after becoming trapped and was airlifted by Lifeline helicopter due to the severity of their injuries.

State Road 135 remained closed for several hours while investigators documented the scene, cleared debris, and began reconstructing the sequence of events. Officials say the investigation remains active as they continue reviewing speed, driver actions, and other contributing factors.
